Buprenorphine Boot Camps

This is an intensive training opportunity for teams that work with the perinatal population. The first 4 hours of the boot camp will be an introduction to basics of perinatal OUD and other PSUDs, including risks associated with PSUDs, screening for PSUDs, stigma/bias, and communication. The second half of the boot camp will separate attendees by training and/or role. For RNs, the conference will include an overview of medications for addiction treatment and the RN role in medication administration and assessment, management of complications in clinic or on the unit, and lactation in the setting of PSUDs. The focus will be on assessment and management in the scope of an RN. For clinicians, this portion will focus on provider level assessment, treatment, pain management, and referrals. For administrators, this time will be used to review systems level changes needed to address perinatal OUD and its comorbidities. This boot camp will foster a statewide network of peers and mentors for management of patients.
